The question this morning is, “What does your ideal day look like?” Part of me wants to answer with the standard old guy joke. “Any day I can get out of bed is a good one.” Of course, that is not true. Just getting out of bed is an accomplishment at times, but it is far from ideal. Of course, most things are far from ideal unless your specialty is setting the bar as low as possible to make certain you can get over it.
So, we are back to the old; beauty is in the eye of the beholder, aspect of life. My ideal day and your ideal day may be so different you might think I’m crazy. For example, I enjoy a challenge, win, lose or draw. I like being challenged. No, I may not enjoy it at the time, but once the dust settles, I can find the value in the situation.
Of course, I do not want a huge challenge every day. Some days, for many reasons, getting out of bed and getting going is an accomplishment. On the other hand, if I were never forced to stretch myself, life would be boring at best.
Some critics may now think I’ve tried to avoid answering the challenge question. I will admit, my answer is far from ideal, but if one person nodded in agreement and another shook their head in disgust, it’s been a good morning, maybe great.
